Spa Services Will Make Everyone In The Bridal Party Blush
It isn’t easy to be a radiant bride these days. It takes time and planning. It also takes a pinch of money and a healthy dose of pampering.
But the bride isn’t the only one wearing that healthy glow on her wedding day. Her attendants, family members, and even the groom are finding local spas that cater to wedding parties with total body care and reducing stress.
“Brides today are so much different than they used to be,” said Marianne Lapomardo of the Spa at Nicholas Michaels in Northboro. “They come in with their wedding planner and attach cases. They have everything (for the wedding) down to the minute.”
The Nicholas Michaels staff is also organized and scheduled, Mrs. Lapomardo said. “We make sure everything is perfect and runs on time. Otherwise, it’s too nerve-wracking. The last thing the bride needs is any more stress.”
The Bridal Package offered at the Spa at Nicholas Michaels can be done as a one- or two-day plan. It includes a body massage and spa shower, followed by a French manicure and European pedicure on the first day. A formal hairstyle and make-up application occurs on the second day, usually the day of the wedding. A light snack accompanies this package.
“On the day of the wedding, the bridal party is usually pressed for time. We set up a trial about one month before the wedding and wedding hairstyles and make-up. When they come in again, the bridal party goes to the same operator they had before,” Mrs. Lapomardo said.
The Bridal Package is $188, and individualized packages can be designed with single services starting at $45.
Options for the groom include the Relaxing Escape or Men’s Spa Day packages. The Escape includes a therapeutic body massage, spa style facial, manicure, haircut, and scalp massage for $165.
The Spa Day starts with a body massage, a paraffin hand treatment, European manicure and pedicure, hairstyle, and a light snack for $140.
Things are changing in how brides prepare for their wedding day, said Donna Janovsky, office manager at Nicci Private Relaxation Day Spa in Northbridge.
“Brides are taking advantage of spa services as a chance to relax before their wedding day. And they are including their attendants for a special time together,” Mrs. Janovsky said.
Some brides enjoy putting together individually tailored packages for themselves and their attendants. A day at Nicci’s ranges from $200 to $300 and may include a massage, manicure, pedicure, facial, hairstyle, breakfast or lunch and a flower of the day. `It’s a day dedicated to the bride,` Mrs. Janovsky said.
In Worcester, Patricia Conzo, of Paul Conzo Day Spa and Hair Salon said brides receive gift certificates to the spa as a shower or wedding present.
“The brides come in and are so happy that they can pamper themselves,” she said.
The spa will also give gift certificates to their attendants and the groom.
